Hello, fellow DNNers!

Is it possible to have the SOLPARTMENU menu items represented by images (a different image for each menu item) instead of regular text?

I know that a way to put images in the menu is to specify a background image in the CSS. But this won't work for us because we need a different image for each menu item. The reason we need this is because we want the menu item title to be in an artisitic & fancy font that may not be installed in everyone's system font list, therefore we need to turn it into a GIF.

If this cannot be implemented with SOLPARTMENU or the standard dnnMenu, then are there any 3rd-party modules that can do the above?

Thanks for any insights!

jc

There was one long time ago for DNN2.2.1 and we did use it for couple of jobs. Not easy to use. It got never upgraded to dnn3x or 4x. it did not have drop downs either.

Image menus are not popular because they are not search engine friendly. However, I do understand your reasons for wanting to use it.

I personally have not seen any such implementation recently.

Thanks for your reply, Salar.

I was afraid that a possible answer to my inquiry would be "no such implementation recently"    :(     I was considering the possibility of making our own (or hiring a high-priced DNN programmer to make one.)

As for developing web material with the sole consideration of search engine friendliness, I think we (web developers) should get past that at this (Net) age . . . some sites are not developed for apparently practical reasons . . . but that's another discussion in another thread.

Thanks again for your contributing comments.

Thanks, Sam, for the link.  I will go and study it and experiment with it . . . will come back with update . . .

Thanks again,
