I am also in a position whereby I need a bit of modification to the user registration control.

I've looked at a couple of the user registration modules (purchased two different ones), but they either don't work correctly or do not give the flexiblity I'm searching for.

I need to add four fields to the current registration screen (i.e. BirthYear, Gender, and a couple of check boxes to indicate that you have read the privacy and terms of use). I'd also like to adjust how the registration is presented into a more wizard like interface.

The check boxes are not needed for actual storage as they really are just validations to allow the registration to proceed. I think that something custom would be better then off-the-shelf "everything to everyone" modules currently available.

Would you possibly extend to me, example code for proceeding down this avenue?
