I am using DNN for the first time (my native element is PHP).This forum has been immensely helpful over the past few weeks and I thank everyone who have tolerated my silly questions. I am about to ask a few more though  concerning the skin logic:
1. Where does the skin tokens get the data to display in the skin. Do I have to create separate aspx files e.g for [COPYRIGHT], [CONTENTPANE:2] etc; if so where do I put them ?
2. How do I insert  tokens like tabbed menu bars; drop down menus ?

I am tidying up a demonstration project to present the merit of DNN to my boss , and I have created a  demonstration skin . I followed the DNN instructions carefully and even bought a commercial construction kit to help out. However when I upload it I get the following  errors :

1. First the skin uploads into the wrong folder( a subfolder to the skin folder) and I had to move the files into the proper folder
2. When I select  the new skin to display I get the following error : 'ContentPane' is already used by another control.' I think this may be a problem with either the XML or CSS files and I am hoping that there will be someone who can help look at the files and sort them out.
A copy of the entire skin can be downloaded from following  www.redbridgereview.co.uk/skin.zip
Thank you

1. I had a look at your skin, you shouldn't zip the folder, but it's content and name the zip to the name of the skin.

2. From the skinning document:
When creating HTML skins and specifying multiple Content Panes, you will need
to specify the “ID” attribute in the attributes file.
Example:
<Objects>
<Object>
<Token>[CONTENTPANE:1]</Token>
<Settings>
<Setting>
<Name>ID</Name>
<Value>LeftPane</Value>
</Setting>
</Settings>
</Object>
</Objects>
If you don't do this, two contentpanes with the same name will be created.

Thanks for your reply.
No matter how much I adjust the XML file it continues to give me the same error. So I removed the XML file and it almost worked . The problem with this now is that all the page content  end up in the center contentpane. The right and left panes remain  empty except with the [LEFTPANE] and [RIGHTPANE] token marking  which I have put there , and which are really not valid tokens.
1 I will like to get all my right and left content to go into their proper positions
2. How can I put extra (a) footer links ..eg  feedback  etc (b) top links  eg, home, sitemap etc

Thanks

Hi.  I tried to download your skin using the URL listed but I get a File not found" error (404).  If you fix it I will take a look and see if I can help.
