I've set up the forum module, and it's working perfectly, except I can only post if I'm logged in as admin or host. How can I can figure the app so that registered users can post? Are the permissions set at the page level? ...module level? ...in the forum administration settings? I can't believe I can't figure this out. I must be overlooking something. Please advise, and thank you in advance for any assistance.

Thanks,
John

Forums is an interesting example with respect to permissions because it was the first module with a major requirement to distribute EDIT permissions (posting is basically editing) to users.  The piece you're missing is that any user that can post to a forum MUST have edit permissions on the module.  In most cases, that simply means giving EDIT permission to the Registered Users role.  Don't worry, that's the way it is supposed to work in this version.  I believe that the next version will implement a customs permissions grid which was not possible in the version of DNN that the forums was originally built for.

Cheers

Thanks everyone!

Next question is... What steps should I take to avoid forum spam and code injection? ...and improve security in general regarding forums?

Also, do forum posts/replies and blog entries automatically show up in search results? ...calendar events?

Thanks,
John
