Hi all

I am trying to install the DNN 4.4 and I come up at the stage that I got the following error below.

What I have done so far are:

1. I moved the compression.config from /config to the root

2. NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE sets as FULL CONTROL on virtual directory

Any help regarding this I am really appreciated.

DotNetNuke Configuration Error

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Inetpub\vhosts\DEWACORP.COM\subdomains\SITENET\httpdocs\Config\Backup_2007317826\web_.config'.Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\vhosts\DEWACORP.COM\subdomains\SITENET\httpdocs\web.config' is denied.

DotNetNuke has extensive file upload capabilities for content, modules, and skins. These features require custom security settings so that the application is able to create and remove files in your website.

Using Windows Explorer, browse to the root folder of the website ( C:\DotNetNuke by default ). Right-click the folder and select Sharing and Security from the popup menu ( please note that if you are using Windows XP you may need to Enable Simple File Sharing before these options are displayed ). Select the Security tab. Add the appropriate User Account and set the Permissions.

• If using Windows 2000 - IIS5
  
  1. the {Server}\ASPNET User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website.
  
  
• If using Windows 2003 - IIS6
  
  1. the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website.

I even try to use 4.3.7 version and it's the same thing ... is there any issue with the installation software? BTW ... I even try to use the source version etc and it's the same thing.

I wish I could help but, I'm just adding fuel to the fire.

Recently, purchased the Professional DotNetNuke 4 book by Wrox. It seems that there is reference to applying permissions to either the source or install folder where DNN4 was uncompressed. However, i've was applying permissions to the NETWORK SERVICES "group". Can't seem to find any reference to a NT AUTHORITY/NETWORK SERVICES User Account . Is this a default user that is installed with Active Directoy. Most likely many of us aren't using AD for a single server installation.

So, definately there is some form of a typo in regards to the correct account that needs permission.

If anyone can assist, I believe this will resolve alot of grief for many of us.

I've been working on this straight for many days now as well still can't figure it out.
