In the web.config file.

The connectionstring for SQLExpress and SQL is different.

For SQL Express, the connectionstring add "AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;".

Then  SQL express will used the Database.mdf under the App_Data directory.

Is there some secret that SQL express should do some special setting?

Does the database file Database.mdf also be used for SQL Server's setting?

this setting allows you to use a database w/o the need of configuring it. You can also create your database in SQL Express manually and use the SQL 2000/2005 connection string instead.
