I’ve got a problem where threads become unavailable. I can’t track down when it occurs but it can happen the first post or many posts into the thread. Once the thread becomes unavailable you can’t view the last page of the post.

I’m using DNN 3.3.7, framework 1.1.4322.2032, Forum Module 3.20.08

I believe what is happening is someone is including an [IMG] tag in thier post...

Unfortunately, the forums seem to use [IMG] internally for something.   When users try to include an image in thier post using the bbCode [IMG] tag, then the forums get confused and stop responding.

Fortunately there is an easy fix (for me at least) that doesn't seem to affect much.   Just go into your forum settings under "Gallery and Emoticons" and uncheck "Enable Image Tag".

My guess is if you do that, you will imediately be able to get into those posts again.

I've posted about this a couple times (including the resolution) and never got any kind of official response about it.  bbCode is very common and I had several different users lock up threads trying to figure out how to include images in their posts.

It would be very nice if this bug was fixed (but I don't see it in the list of changes for the next version) and it would be even nicer if it was made so that users could actually include external images using the bbCode [IMG] tag.

Hope that Helps

-Jason
