The last word I have heard is that is is still planned for deployment sometime this week.  The dogfooding of the newest RC is a good step towards the actual release....it all depends on if more issues are found.

No.  The official word is that RC3 was released to Platinum benefactors this week so that they could do final testing.  We made quite a few changes after dogfooding RC2 to deal with some performance issues and have had to make some changes to forums to deal with the recent XSS issues which will be detailed once we know the fix is working.  As a result of all these post RC2 changes we did not feel the product was ready for GA yet.  While we understand the desire of the community to get the latest release as quickly as possible, we think that most people would rather have a stable version that is both performant and secure and that has been fully tested with these fixes.  Our expectation is that barring any major issues in RC3, that we will release 4.5 next week.
