I have looked around and I can't find anything on this. If there is a way someone let me know. Otherwise, I would like to suggest to the DNN Core team to add a way to set permissions on who can add Modules to a page.

For example, I have a large site and have many page editors that can add/edit pages under their sections only. However, there are many modules that I don't want them to see or be able to just drop on there page and use it or God forbid allow "All users" to use it. At the Same time I want to use these modules in secure areas, and also also certain other users to use these modules.

So Accounting should be able to see Accounting Modules, but Marketing shouldn't be able to add them to there page just because they have Add/Edit rights to their Section of the Site.

Thanks for any feedback.

Brad

Is there anyway to handle this?

TRTControlPanel module can do some of this, but not as extensive as you have said..

is the TRTControlPanel appoved by DNN?
Has anyone used it?

Why isn't this built into DNN and how do I suggest it to the core team?

I don't think it's been approved on their official list. It's not a core module, it's a third party module developed by Dave Buckner.

I think the functionality should be built into the Core of Dotnetnuke, Not as a module, but built in to Module Permissions.

Has anyone on the Core Team thought of this?
