Hi,

I am trying to install DNN 4.4.1 on my website.

I have created the MS SQL database successfully, made the changes in web.config OK.

When I browse to "Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install" I first got the "Path to Compression.config" error, and after reading a few posts on this forum, I moved this file to the root of my site.

I now get the Access to the path '\mutley.org\web.config' is denied. error.

I am installing onto IIS6, what do I need to ask my webhost to do ?
Is it just: "the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website."

Thanks for any help.

Just to follow up,

My webhost moved me from a MYSQL 2000 to a MYSQL2005 server, and has setup permissions.

They also install DNN 4.05.00 for me on a sub domain (bless !), however, I am getting the following error:

Domain Name www.dnn.mutley.org Does Not Exist In The Database

DotNetNuke supports multiple portals from a single database/codebase. It accomplishes this by converting the URL of the client browser Request to a valid PortalID in the Portals database table. The following steps describe the process:

  1. Web Server Processing
    • When a web server receives a Request from a client browser, it compares the file name extension on the target URL resource to its Application Extension Mappings defined in IIS.
    • Based on the corresponding match, IIS then sends the Request to the defined Executable Path ( aspnet_asapi.dll in the case of ASP.NET Requests ).
    • The aspnet_isapi.dll engine processes the Request in an ordered series of events beginning with Application_BeginRequest.
  2. HttpModule.URLRewrite OnBeginRequest ( UrlRewriteModule.vb )
    • The Request URL is parsed based on the "/" character
    • A Domain Name is constructed using each of the relevant parsed URL segments.

      Examples:

      URL: http://www.domain.com/default.aspx = Domain Name: www.domain.com
      URL: http://209.75.24.131/default.aspx = Domain Name: 209.75.24.131
      URL: http://localhost/DotNetNuke/default.aspx = Domain Name: localhost/DotNetNuke

I am using MS SQL Server Studio Express to access my database, can I put www.dnn.mutley directly into the database, if so could you advise me how, or is there something else I need to do ?

Thanks for any help,
