I seem to be having some problems with the file manager on my site. I have some sub folders under the portal root folder but the only folder that is seen is the portal root folder. However when I click on the "+" for the other folders to drop down nothing does. I have to add a folder for the rest of the folders to show themselves.

Is there something I need to do so all folders show as soon as I open the file manager?

I have also tried to upload a new folder with files in it to the portal root folder by ftp. It seems to work fine but when I go into the file manager on my site the folder isnt there. I have had to first create the new folder within the file manager then uplaod the files into that folder by ftp.

Is this normal?

Thankyou so much for your help!!

Yes it is normal.  What you need to do is click on syncronize, so that the new folders can be found and added to the database.

By syncronize do you mean click on the synchronize files botton from withing the file manager module? Should I have recursive ticked?

I have tried this and it doesnt seem to make any difference. Am I doing something wrong??

Thanks for your help!

Yes, that is what I meant.

If that didn't fix it, then I am not sure what the problem is.

So should I be able to click on the cross next to portals and have all the folders come up?

Also if I create a file and upload it to the file manager using ftp, should it show up from the file manager from within the site? At the moment they are not.

Thanks again!
