I have an old site that I wanted to replace with DotNetNuke.

So I created the site at new.site.com  thinking i would rename it to www.site.com when I'm ready to launch.

Well, I'm ready to launch, go to rename it and there is no option. Only to add a name... worse, it still references the new.site.com throughout the site.

How can I completely remove reference to the "new.site.com" and replace it completely with www.site.com?

Regards,

Chuck

That's an easy fix. Go to Admin->Site Settings, scroll all the way down, you should see "Portal Aliases" section, add a new one there, then log out and call the site from the new alias and go the same place and delete the old one if you think you wont need it anymore. If you have to move the portal to the new place (if the portal is in a different folder in a subweb) then make sure u set the new alias first before the moving. If it's just a host header in a virtual hosting environment, you are fine by just adding a new HTTP Alias.

That appears to have solved the problem... Thanks.

Wish it was part of the admin tools, simply indicating that you can not use and delete a portal you are logged into.
