After verifying all of my permissions over and over, I am running on a internet site: http://www.columbusgametown.com/dnn I went over my web.config file, and searched the forums for about 3 days now. It seems like if I try to logout, login, add a module, remove a module, or pretty much anything I get this error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) at System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() at System.IO.Path.GetFullPath(String path) at System.Web.Util.FileUtil.IsSuspiciousPhysicalPath(String physicalPath, Boolean& pathTooLong) at System.Web.Util.FileUtil.IsSuspiciousPhysicalPath(String physicalPath) at System.Web.CachedPathData.GetConfigPathData(String configPath) at System.Web.CachedPathData.GetConfigPathData(String configPath) at System.Web.Configuration.WebConfigurationManager.GetWebApplicationSection(String sectionName) at DotNetNuke.Framework.Providers.ProviderConfiguration.GetProviderConfiguration(String strProvider) at DotNetNuke.Framework.Reflection.CreateObject(String ObjectProviderType, String ObjectProviderName, String ObjectNamespace, String ObjectAssemblyName, Boolean UseCache) at DotNetNuke.Modules.NavigationProvider.NavigationProvider.Instance(String FriendlyName) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.NavObjectBase.InitializeNavControl(Control objParent, String strDefaultProvider) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.SolPartMenu.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.OnInit(EventArgs e) at DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) The action that failed was: Demand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer

I have verified that I have R/W/E/M flags on all directories and files in the DNN folder. Can anyone point me to the correct answer.

Thank you

this is not an issue with file system permissions, but with .Net permissions, that can be configured in administrative tools.

Thank you for the reply, although that may be a little vague for me. This is on 1and1.com server, when I call them should I ask for a specific thing? Is there something in the web.config that can be changed? Should I find a different server? I am extremely proficient in ASP, this ASP.net is pretty new to me so I am kinda a rookie at it.

Thank you.
Jeff

oops, 1and1.

Try to contact the support and tell them you are going to install DNN and ask, if it is preconfigured accordingly.

Good Luck!

I think I can almost state, these guy at 1and1 are almost moronic. This little story is based on a true story, only the names have been chaged:

So I called them up and talked to a Vannie (oh wait, the name were to be changed) ummmm, Phil, yeah it was Phil, with a very strong Middle Eastern accsent. Vannie, I mean Phil stated that my package didn't support ASP.net. I had him go to my website, and he says oh maybe it does. Then he said what is the application that you are trying to install. I told him DotNetNuke. His response was You can not run that program. I said it is in your FAQs on how to set it up. He said ok hold on a minute. After about 5 minutes of 70's/80's musak being repeated over and over and over and over.. Ok you get the drift. He came back and said add this code to every .aspx file on the webspace:

<configuration>
        <system.web>
                  <customerrors mode="off"/>
                  <identity impersonate="true"/>
       </system.web>
</configuration>

Now I will not state that I am a great ASP.net programmer, although I KNOW that is not it, so I am back to here. I am now on hold for the 4th time, on the second call and tried to state that I need the required permission to run this program. The scary part is, I don't hear the 80's music playing... Did he hang up, and I stranded alone on a deserted island peeling bananas, and cracking coconuts like Tom Hanks in Cast-away. The phones dead silence is starting to sound like the begining of a dream in Freddy's Nightmare. The saga has yet ended.

Next time on Who's error is it you will see the host of the show start mooning people on the street to keep his santity.
