I am looking at the DNN 4.4.1 source version trying to find the code that is used to encrypt the password, but I am not finding it.

I am guessing that it should be in the DNNMembershipDataProvider class, but I cannot find this class.  Can someone point me in the right direction to find the encryption code?

Isn't this a part of the original provider? and only referenced by DNN?

One hint... go to login module, find the option to get the lost password, find the functionality which decrypts the password, and I am 90% sure the encrypt functionality will be a part of the same class.

I looked there as well, and it too makes references to the DNNMembershipDataProvider to get the information, but I just can't find it....

I am trying to find it so I can possibly create a "set password" tool for if someone gets locked out.  Basically a small app that accepts the machine key values, and then will encrypt a password.  that way you could truly manually set a password, but until I can find the method for encryption I can't...

I havn't tried tracing the authentication/forgotten password code to see if these are the methods actually being used, but there are Public Functions Encrypt and Decrypt in DotNetNuke.Security.PortalSecurity (file path .. Library\Components\Security\PortalSecurity.vb).
