If I let DNN add the doctype (<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">)

Then it goes into quirks mode and I actually like the way it renders stuff in this case

However I am using the AJAX Modal Popup from the AJAX Control Toolkit and if I let the doctype stand the popup appears to the left and in the upper corner with only a fourth of the popup showing (this is in IE FF looks fine)

So I was trying to add XHTML Strict doctype (<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">) to get the popup to appear correctly - however now all my edit controls appear centered including the section header - how is this fixed?

I am using the blue skin at this point but will change it in time after I get the site functionality built.

okay - not really a problem of changing the doctype I know how to do that but my problem is what works in the view control doesnt seem to work in the edit controls

I  would have a differnt skin with the right doctype for the control in question but i cant detail a skin per edit view - would be nice to be able to do that though
