I have encountered a number of errors using repository in Firefox. There are a number of errors being generated.  The errors do not cause DNN  stop working, but are generated in the background and interfere with funcionality.  t(DNN 4.04.01, Repository module 3.01.01)

1. When the module settings tab loads,The following error is generated by FTB-FreeTextBox.js

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE) [nsIDOMNSHTMLDocument.designMode]" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: http://myserver/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider/ftb3/FTB-FreeTextBox.js :: FTB_FreeTextBox :: line 101" data: no]

this.designEditor.document.designMode = 'On';

Consequently, nothing can be entered in the text box.

2.  I am also getting this error, generated by tooltip.js

bEdge is not defined
if(bEdge<ttipObj.offsetHeight)

3. When clicking "update" for the settings -  The following error is generated:

FTB_API.dnn_ctr374_ModuleSettings_Settings_ascx_teContent_teContent has no properties
WebForm_OnSubmit()Default.aspx (line 50)
__doPostBack("dnn:ctr374:ModuleSettings:cmdUpdate", "")Default.aspx (line 21)

if (typeof(ValidatorOnSubmit) == "function" && ValidatorOnSubmit() == false) ret...

3. When displaying the tab with the repository settings the following error is generated by pngfix.js:

window.attachEvent is not a function

window.attachEvent("onload", correctPNG);

4. After setting up the module in IE, there are major differences in the way wmv files behave in the two browsers. I cannot tell if the same errors are being generated on IE, since i do not have software that gives me that information.

IF it's an option, I would recommend that you change to the FCK editor. It is the new default text editor for DNN. The problems you are seeing above are related to the FTBFreeText box and not a result of the Repository module, and any fixes would have to be in that component.

If changing is not an option, you might try reposting your issues in one of the general topic forums.

Thanks,

This is a new install, and I intend to change to FCK editor,  which I prefer anyway, just haven't done it yet.  I am surprised that I am not seeing similar issues with other modules that incorporate a text module.

are you getting the FTBFreeTextbox errors on the module settings page? or on the main repository display. There is a known issue with an FTB object placed on a settings page. A module settings page inherits from a different base object and that causes a problem.  There are not too many modules that have a rich text editor on their settings page which is why I believe it is a problem most reported by repository users.
