I have just started working in DNN 3.  When trying to add a folder in File Manager I get the following error (I am logging in as host and going to Host File Manager).  Any suggestions or resolutions?

A critical error has occurred.
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

Is there an aspnet_client folder in your web?

I am having the same issue, I am running DNN 3.2.2, I have opened the NTFS permissions completely (full control for everyone, asp, etc) I am having the same issue when I try to upload a file to the root. However, when I upload a single logo image to be used it works correctly. Only in file manager do I have this issue.

Ok, I too am a Newb to DNN.  However a little research has shown that this error is not uncommon if:

1) You have installed DNN 3.2.X

AND

2) are running on an ASP.net 2.0 platform

I have encountered a similar issue with the above config. Turning the enableEventValidation string to 'off' removes the error message.

Since I am new, I am open to some experienced suggesstions.

Should I:

Install DNN 4.x

Or uninstall ASP.net 2.0 and then install 1.1 in its place

Or is there a workaround for the actual issue not just turning off the notification of the error.

Thanks for any help,

CB
