Hi,

Can someone give me some more info on how the URLcontrol works? I'm specifically interested in where the NEWWINDOW and TARGET values get stored and how I should connect the URLcontrol to my edit form.

Thanks!

afaik there is no target attribute and the openinnewwindow flag gets stored in the urltracking table - imo not the best solution.

Thought they were separate values, I now see the urltracking table contains a "newwindow" column.

What other options do you suggest as an alternative to the urlcontrol (if I understand your advice against it correctly)?

Thanks!

to be honest, I don't like DNN's current URLControl and there shall be a new one in the near future. I am sure, that there are 3rd party alternatives, but this will lead into inconsistencies in your portal, therefore my advice: stick to it and wait for the replacement.
