Hi

I had tonight update my last version portal to 4.5. I do have received an upgrade error.log (can attachedit if needed) Now I can't no longer login with my username. I upgrad my portal with the upgrade packet and did not overwrite my web.config file.

As this was not working I try to use the release.config file from the upgrade packet and input my machine key section and the database settings.

It do not help. I can't still logged on. Another way to solve the problem was to open the portal for registration and create a new user. Then I copy the password from the new created user into my host account. In the past this was a way to solve problems like lost password or wrong machine key. But.... I receive now the errormessage "Invalid length for a Base-64 char array."

Thank's if anybody has an idea how I can solve my problem.

update of the current situation

I could create a new user and with this user I can login. So I mark this user as superuser and now I'm able to login as "host". But as soon as I try to change a password of any user I receive the message "Invalid length for a Base-64 char array".

Another interesting point: On the userscreen I don't have longer a Firstname and Lastname fullfilled. But I'm shure that I have input this information before.

I have the same problem. So I created a new site with 4.4.1 then did an immediate upgrade to 4.5. After the upgrade I could not login as admin or host.

You must be sure to copy your machineKey values from the previous instlals web.config to the new web.config.

If you have done this and still can't get in, but can get in with a new user account.  I have a blog on my site http://www.mitchelsellers.com that shows you how to copy the password from a working account to another user, effectivly resetting their password!

Thank you for your help. The problem is that I'm not able to change the password of the existing  users. So I can logon with my new created user and then I was trying to reset the password of the old host user I receive the message with the wrong base-64 encoding.
