I am sending emails to users, but I don't want them to be sent if the user is not authorized.  Is there a method I can call passing the userID to that tells me if they are authorized?  I searched the portalsecurity class, but there is so much stuff in there.

I'm open for other options as well if someone dosn't know of a method.

I think you want to look at userinfo.membership.approved for this field.

Thanks for the reply.  How exactly do i call UserInfo.Membership.Approved? I'm returning the user info from a stored procedure. I was hoping for something like UserInfo.Membership.Approved(UserID) But I know that's not right.
