Hello.

I installed on a remote server dotnetnuke, but since we didn't have the domain yet I installed it using the server ip, and everything was working fine.

Now I bought a domain and redirected it to the sever ip, I can access the dotnetnuke site via the new domain, but when I try to login it keeps going to the homepage but the user doesn't logs in.

If I use the ip to access the site then I can login just fine.

I guess it's a config problem, can someone help me please? it's urgent.

Try adding an alias to the portal

Login as host ->Portals->EditPortal (pencil icon) ->and scroll to the bottom of the page.

I don't entirely understand this functionality so maybe soemone elsecan provide more feedback.

Did you add a portal alias for the new domain name?

Yes, I addeed a portal alias, I also noticed something weird, it works with Firefox but it doesn't work with IE.

Also when I access the site with the domain, all the links show the ip instead of the domain name, is that normal?

I really need to fix it because it's a very important project, and a fresh install is something I'd rather avoid because I installed a lot of custom modules I made.

Delete domain name alias from the portal you have now.

Create another parent portal with the doman name as alias.

That's it. And you keep all the modules. :)
