Hi all,

I have recently migrated to DotnetNuke 4.5, the site was working fine until yesterday, when i tried to add a page through admin login it asks me to update my profile, but  when I update it, it never takes me further i.e it still asks me  "Please update my profile before continuing", the problem exists with all the users

I had this exact same problem on this site.  Yes www.dotnetnuke.com!

I had to create a whole new user account to get access again.  I never did get an answer on what the problem was...just a "...create a new account..."  from dotnetnuke.com helpdesk.

Did you possibly add a required profile field that is set to hidden?

"...required profile field..."

I did not.  At least not that I know of.  I have installed this almost 9 times now, 6 with ver 4.4 and 3 times with the latest vers. 4.5.  Same result each time.  Logining in as host or admin is like logging in as just a base user, Admin or Host menus available.

What is very, very odd is that if I go into IIS and "Browse" the virtual directory, I am able to login as host and admin and the appropriate menus.

Would a hidden required field explain these symptoms?

Thanks for you help Mitchel!

Bruce,

Are you using the embedded supplied databases (in the app_data) folder, or are you creating a new database manually and connecting to it?
