Mitchel -

This really helped me out with my upgrade from 4.4.1 to 4.5 today. The app_offline.htm is a great feature I'd never heard of.

One thing during the upgrade that did cause me to spill my coffee was this:

Exception Details: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Email

I see some others have had the same issue: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/96992/scope/posts/Default.aspx

The fix to the SP called GetPortal did the trick.

You might want to add that to your article. Also, I'm not sure how PageBlaster from Snapsis would affect an upgrade. In any case I edited it out of web.config during the upgrade and added it back later.
