While on DotNetNuke website, all of the sudden, the site went into update mode.  The screen showed it being successfully updated to 4.5.1.

What is going on?  Why did I see this on my side?  When I clicked refreshed, the update process repeated (or appeared to).

I think the core team have had a little trick up their sleve
It's all 4.5.1 now, AND all are available to download
Looking at the changelog right now there are only three issues fixed:

DNN-2027, DNN-2522, DNN-5453

http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/RoadMap.aspx?PROJID=2

Nothing in blogs or in posts. I'm sure there is more to it than this. Something to do with file paths perhaps?
Maybe there is more?.
I've only just updated some of my sites from 4.3.5 to 4.5.0  so I'd like to know whether it is really needed or not, and whether a quick update is possible, without having to download/upgrade/upload my site again.....
No doubt we will be hearing very soon, not everything can happen all at once....

I was in a smiley mood sorry....

Not sure why no post has been done in these forums, but here's the message I got :

A DotNetNuke 4.5.1 package was posted for public download today. This release contains fixes to a number of issues identified after 4.5.0 was publicly released.

Specifically:

1. FCKEditor - there was an issue when using FCK Editor on a Site vs. Virtual Directory when trying to insert an image from the gallery. This was fixed in the FCK Editor provider. In addition, the Preview option in the Html/Text editor would result in double path specifications for images. This was fixed in the core framework.

2. Upgrade - the SQL script which added unique constraints on the Folders and Files tables needed to have logic added to remove any duplicate data prior to creating the constraints. A new 04.05.01.SqlDataProvider was added and the constraints were removed from the 04.05.00.SqlDataProvider script.

3. Roles - changes made in 4.5.0 related to bugs identified with Trial subscriptions affected other behavior of Roles. These additional use cases were fixed and tested.

4. ClientAPI - a WebControls DLL compiled in Debug mode was mistakenly included with DNN 4.5.0. A new version of the WebControls DLL compiled in Release mode was included instead.

5. Survey - due to the changes made for xhtmlConformance, the Survey module became inoperable in DNN 4.5.0. A new version of Survey was passed through the release process and included in the release.

6. Starter Kit - some file paths for FCKEditor and Resources needed to be shortened in order for the Starter Kit to install properly ( maximum path length = 108 characters ).

Note: #6 above necessitated a path change for the FCK Editor support files. As a result, there is a change required in the web.config on upgrade to replace the paths "Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/FckhtmlEditorProvider/" with "Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/"

Thanks for the update Geert. I assume platinum benefactors got this message, hopefully this will be blogged or announced very soon for the rest of us.

So from what I see:
1) I assume we await a new build of FCKEditor.
2) Issue is related to DNN-5376 which I assume will be closed off shortly.
3) See gemini issues of my previous post.
4) Would like to know exactly which DLL's are effected?
5) This was previously blogged about.
6) This was previously posted about.

Assuming this is just it, those with 4.5.0 could probably just get away with patching up.

You know what, i'm scheduling an update after being sure its time to update, but guess what happens?

After updating to 4.4.1 to 4.5 i  visit here and notice that new 4.5.1 released. I'm updating my remote portals with 256k/64k connection, and i would like to see an announcement about new release will be published at this date.

Update takes longer, and you must be careful about process. But now i have to update again. Why? Because i had to guess that new version released today.

I need a painkiller
