I'm not sure why, but I only have the following options in any module I try to place in a content pane.

  • Import Content
  • Export Content
  • Help
  • Online Help
  • Print
  • Settings
  • Delete
  • Refresh

I do not see an option to edit the actual text.  Any idea what could be wrong?  Has this dialog changed?

You need to add the modules you want to use.  The Text/HTML is one you need to add.  This will enable you to edit your text then.  Without this module, it will not work.  I believe they under the host tab.  Modules.

I have the same problem.  There were some checkboxes next to a number of modules under Host, Module Definitions - but the Text/HTML module was not one of them.  Anyhow clicking on the checkbox and installing them did nothing.  I still cannot edit the contents of my Text/HTML modules when logged on as host - there is no text displayed and no Edit option.

Actually, it's simpler than that.  Forgot to go back and answer my own question.  Under "Page Functions" in the control panel, there's a button labled "Design".  With "Edit" selected at the top of the control panel, make sure there is a plus on the Design button icon.  If you see a minus symbol, click the icon to be able to have the edit option.  Not sure about the intentions behind this design, but that is how I got past this problem.

Thanks for that. It solves the problem, but as you say - what on earth is that feature for?
