Hi,

I need to perform some actions in my UserProfile module when a new user registers - I searched the forums for "Event Queue" but could not find anything on this - the last I heard DNN 4.5x was going to allow module developers to subscribe to certain core events?

Has anyone done this or can anyone point me in the right direction/code snippets of how to do it?

Ok, I have found some info on it - the EventQueueController and how to publish an Event (e.g in UpdateModuleInterfaces) but I still can't figure out how to subscribe to a core event (NewUser)

Here is an issue in Gemini which hints that it is possible with DNN 4.5.1...

We will have to probably wait until Charles or Shaun has a chance to provide more details. From the way I read it, it is "ready" to provide the events. it is not clear that the events have actually been implemented.

We will be creating a system in the future that will allow a documenting team to post explanations and examples for issues lik ethis. We are aware of the frustration this causes.

Hi Rodney,

So far there is only one core event that gets published and subscribed to using the EventQueue and that is Application_Start.

Also, keep in mind that the EventQueue is asynchronous.  That issue in Gemini is talking about an event that happens within the control lifecycle which is different.

Ah - that is a pity - I really thought I had read somewhere that we would be able to take advantage of these events (specifically NewUser) from version 4.5.x....

Thanks for the replies...
