First, just to show I'm not bitter and twisted, I want to say DNN is a great set of products and we all owe a big vote of thanks to the various development teams. However I know that I have spent an awful lot of time trawling the forums and googling to find out why I get various errors ranging from the relatively trivial to the site-stoppingly critical only to find in the end that the problem is a 'known issue'.
A couple of relatively simple changes could I think make a big difference:
1. Could we have a maintained listing for DNN core and for each of the modules of known issues, particularly critical ones, and workarounds. It seems particularly pointless to download and install a new release that some people know will not work. Please share the knowledge somehow or other.
2. Similarly can we have listing of realistic availability dates for fixes and for modules upgrades. At least then it's possible to make a reasoned decision about how to react to issues when managing client projects. Also a listing of exactly what enhancements/fixes will be included in each new release would be very helpful.
I know all this means extra work for already very busy people but I think it would help the DNN community hugely and assist with the perception of DNN as a professional product.
So what do you think?
Nick
PS. If you could give a release date for these improvements......only kidding.
