Hi all,

I apolagise if this is redundant question, but I could not find answer anywhere.

Anyway, I wrote my Membership provider, and I succesfully implemented it.

Also I have extended DataProvider class, and my main idea is to have BlinkMembershipProvider (my member. provider) to use my own implementation of DataProvider class (called BlinkSqlMembershipProvider). How ever, when UserControler class make instance of my MembershipProvider (BlinkMembershipProvider), then it creates standard SqlDataProvider (from Membership.Data namespace) instead of my own implementation  of BlinkSqlMembershipProvider. How can I slip in my new Sql Membership provider instead of his membership provider?

tnx

P.

Did you replace the provider in the config file?

Example:

    <data defaultProvider="SqlDataProvider">
      <providers>
        <clear />

        <add name="SqlDataProvider" type="Blink.Data.SqlDataProvider, Blink.SqlDataProvider" connectionStringName="XXX" upgradeConnectionString=""  objectQualifier="" databaseOwner="dbo" />

Notice I comment out the old provider and add my own.

Also note the clear statement on top

<!--        <add name="SqlDataProvider" type="DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider" connectionStringName="XXX"  upgradeConnectionString="" providerPath="~\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\" objectQualifier="" databaseOwner="dbo" />  -->
      </providers>
    </data>

You should change your default provider definition in your web config file.

Just Add another provider definition under the membership tags and make this provider as the default provider of your site.
