ajax.asp.net details a few web.config options that should be there for AJAX to perform, yet I don't see them included in the release.config (or web.config) for an upgrade or fresh install.  These sections are:

  • A new section group named "system.web.extensions" and included some sub groupds like scripting, webservices, etc
  • under assemblies, the "system.web.extensions.design" (i believe this is used for the ajax control toolkit, so that explains why it wouldn't be there)
  • after system.web section, a system.webserver section which includes a bunch of hud.

Just curious why those are missing; ie, does DNN handle all that stuff some other way, or was this just an oversight?

I was wondering about that too - I've got a web.config which is a combination of the web.config from the AJAX web-site template and DNN.

It would have been nice if the DNN guys had actually mentioned that it supports AJAX - so I can get the runtime installed at the client site too... Thankfully I was way ahead ;-)
