I have tried 2 different forms packages, and neither seems to accomplish what I need. I am looking for suggestions.

I develop systems for one of the largest re-marketers of copier equipment in the world.

My requirements:

I need to create forms for several of my clients from data that exists in a database that exists in the same instance as my DNN database. I need to retrieve data from several tables to display the information required by the client. I would accomplish this with either SPROC's or VIEWS The client will need to be able to search the data for a specific machine or group of machines in thier inventory. It may be based on a number of client entered criteria (such as the date the unit was received, or a specific make and model, or a serial number, maybe other fields in the form not yet determined).

The client  will, usually, be allowed to change only one field on the form.

One of my clients will need to insert a new record into a table.

I currently have a project that requires me to create forms for only 2 of my clients however the goal would be to create forms for all my major clients (over 17 at this time). I am creating sub-portals for each of my clients. thus restricitng access each client  to thier specific inventory.

I cannot envision myself creating dataproviders, and forms for each of these portals. Particularly since the data required by each client will change.

I must be able to resrict access to  the form design since I don't want my end users to modify the forms. Nor do I want them to have access to what I call the foundation query (SELECT  X number of fields FROM the linked tables WHERE the Client is Y). that's why the need to use SPROCS OR VIEWS.

Any Suggestions?

You may try module from http://components.init.si. Module should support this requests. Fully functional demo is available.

Great Package, unfortunately my ISP will only support Medium Trust not the Full Trust you require.

For me to move to another ISP would become complicated, since I just set up a Digital Certificate on the site I am using for this project.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thank you for trying module!

I'm sorry for this situation.  Module supports odbc, network share access  etc and this functionalities requires full trust. Plan for the future is to offer module with limited functionalities for medium trust environment.

Best regards,

Primož
