Using the validation services for new user registrations, the user gets a email with the verification code. This email is sent from the admin email address. But now I’ve changed the SMTP settings (on the host settings page) and the admin email address, but still new reg'ed users get the email address from the previous - initial - SMTP settings.

To complicate things: I want a different address for the user registration then the normal admin address, e.g. newusers@mydomain.com, admin@mydomain.com

Looking in the database, under hostsettings I see no reference to the address users currently gets at new registration. It is: admin@computer.isp-mailserver.com not even admin@computer.mydomain.com

How to configure this?

Thanks for watching.

The e-mail addressed used for all new accounts is the admin account e-mail address.  (it is possibly cached which would explain why the settings didn't change right away).

If you want to use a different e-mail address for JUST new user registration e-mails you will need to obtain/build a custom registration module.

Thank you for your response. I have cleared the cache (from host settings page), I have manually cleared the windows-cache, cleared all cookies, restarted the box and rechecked all settings. It's now 2 days since I changed SMTP settings and still I get admin@my-box.my-isp.com. Any other thoughts?

Guess I have to drop the dual email setting untill I have the knowledge to write the code myself :)

Well it turned out to be very simple (and very stupid as well)

It was the Host and Admin emails (set under each account) that triggered the flaw here. Change both to my domain (email@my-domain) and bingo, it worked as inteded. That gotta be  a bug. Using 4.5.1
