This is a followup with more details on an error mentioned in my last post.

Users see this error:
An error has occurred.
Error: Events is currently unavailable

The sequence I believe needed to reproduce this:

Events Module on its own page, page permissions: Registered Users have view permissions.
Events Module in Month View.
Test page as with Administrator Account and Registered User account. Calendar appears.
Close all browser windows to avoid and caching issues.
Using Administrator account, select 'Settings' on Events module (do NOT change view first!)
Under Module settings:
Change Default Module view to 'List'
Select 'Disable Month View Cell Events'
Update Settings
Close browser
Login as authenticate user account-- user sees generic error, no calendar
Login as admin. Admin sees error, but changing the view from the Module's drop down menu makes the calendar work again.

Here is the info from the site event logs: (And now that I look closer at the event it appears to have something to do with 'Categories'-- which I hadn't created any, nor had I planned to.)

Ok, so I know this thread should be more errors to correct for release, but I wanted to get these down before I forgot.

Minor 'nice-to-have' items, from this users persective:

  • Icons (or underlined links) on the options in event details (such as 'Enroll for this event?' with a pencil icon or at least as 'Enroll for this Event' (I'll push my luck and suggest no question mark and calling it 'Register')
  • Abiltiy for an enrolled individual to unregister themselves from an event (maybe an option on the event to 'Allow self un-registration')
  • Inclusion of enrollment list, delete selected attendees, email selected and email all options on the Event Details (admins/event creators only) in addition to having these in the 'Edit Event' area.

Again-- thanks for your lead and work on this key (and complex) module. Having worked on registration systems myself, I understand the challenges. With the few bug fixes I previously posted, this one is a winner. (The above items will just help to reduce my support phone calls!)

Resolution to issue number 2 (An authenticated user (non-admin) account does not have the ability to change a module instance view from month to day to week. Your demo has links at the bottom of the view, but they don't appear in my installation. ) had to do with the skin container I was using. I changed containers and that was fine. It also is probably the case for one of my suggestions in a later post-- something I would have realized if I had stopped to eat dinner...

Hi Alan,
Sorry I was not clear enough and not fully correct in the previous posting, Please do not consider my previous post.
Here is again corrected and more detail and corrected report.

1. skin is set to Small and “Disable Month View Cell Events” is checked and I use Month view..

If events last one or more days, if you click on the first day it will display: “No events for selected date...”.
If you click second day, it will display event with:

START Day = Today
End day = Originally End Day + 1

For the 3rd day would be :
START Day = Today
End day = Originally End Day + 2
Etc.

2. weekend view – if event lasts more then one week, for example start this week and ends in the middle of the next weeks, it display event that last WHOLE next week, and not till the middle of the next week.

thanks
Goran

Hi Alan
I just tried the last version from http://www.avanced.net/  (9th of June) and these problem are still there.

Are you runnign on http://www.avanced.net/ site the last version from 9th of June?

BTW - can you give us more time to test the module (now and in the future) before you submit module for release?

The fix for the first tissue would be quite important for us (as we are using this settings).

and last but not least - THAKS FOR ALL THE EFFORT!!!!!!

best regards
Goran

Candera, check your DNN skin out...you may have some things missing.  If you use the default dnn skin it should work correctly w/unauthenticated users.
