Hi folks,

When I'm building a DNN site I usually install it on a sub domain such as

www.kerrnew.clearviewis.com

When I put the site into production I add an alias for the actual domain where the site should be such as

www.kerrvillagebia.ca

So now my portal has two aliases.

However when I open my browser and type www.kerrvillage.ca I get redirected to the development domain  www.kerrnew.clearviewis.com which is certainly not what I want.

Does anyone have any advice, hints or ideas on removing this redirection. At the moment removing the www.kerrnew.clearviewis.com alias is not an option, plus I do not have the option in DNN.

Many thanks in advance for any help given.

Tony Stallan

Restarting the application will usually resolve this if you have your aliases entered correctly.

You can restart it under Host > Host Settings, or if you are on an older version you can make a change to web.config like adding a space where it doesn't matter and save.

Hi John,

I had already tried restarting the application a couple of times. I tried amending the config file, again with no luck.

I'm on Version 4.4.1

Thanks

Tony

You are entering the aliases without the http:// part I assume?

Can you post the alias records and the urls you are using to access the portal?

Thanks anyway.
