Hi

I'm certainly new to the Bloging role and have to ask what is and how is PermaLink and Trackback used. They are terms that are completely new to me.

Cheers

Permalink is a link for your blog entry which does not change (or better should not change for a long time) which can be used from other people to point to your blog entry.

Trackback ist the url which is used to create trackback links from other blogs to your blog entry.

You can read a good description of these terms on wikipedia

Trackback

I don't want to confuse my site visitors with the Permalink and Trackback links located at the end of every blog post.  Is there a way to remove them?

Nathan,

you can do the following:

Change the code as follows:

Here the original code:

  <td align="right" colSpan="2"><asp:hyperlink id="lnkPermaLink" ResourceKey="lnkPermaLink" cssclass="CommandButton" runat="server">Permalink</asp:hyperlink>&nbsp;|&nbsp;
   <asp:hyperlink id="lnkTrackBack" ResourceKey="lnkTrackBack" cssclass="CommandButton" runat="server">Trackback</asp:hyperlink></td>

Here the changed code (changes are marked in bold)

  <td align="right" colSpan="2"><asp:hyperlink id="lnkPermaLink" ResourceKey="lnkPermaLink" cssclass="CommandButton" visible="False" runat="server">Permalink</asp:hyperlink>&nbsp;|&nbsp;
   <asp:hyperlink id="lnkTrackBack" ResourceKey="lnkTrackBack" cssclass="CommandButton" visible="False" runat="server">Trackback</asp:hyperlink></td>
