I am having browser compatibility issues. I designed my website wile using dotnetnuke and firefox browser, it only took about  12 hours to setup and it looks great I was thoroughly impressed. Then I looked at it in IE and I was disgusted none of the content panels are aligning and filling the empty space up like they do in firefox. I am not even sure where to begin to fix this, please help.

Look at the above site in Firefox that is what I would like my site too look like.

Then look at it in IE that is the what 90% of people are seeing right now....arrrg.

I have been digging through Style Sheet classes under the Site Settings> Style sheet Editor but nothing I change in there seems to change the module. Am I missing something? What class could I add styles too that would change all the modules to fit at 100% in IE like it does in FireFox.

This not a display of browsers showing correct code differently, but browsers showing incorrect code differently. It'll match as you want it to as soon as you've gone through it with a fine toothed comb.

On first glance you've got a mis-matched tbody tag, and also some odd stuff like <td width="1900"><img src="/DNN/Portals/_default/Skins/Serenity32-4/Images/spacer.gif" width="9" height="1"></td>

You'll find the problems if you just go through your skin carefully.

Browsers will always try and display a page regardless of any errors, but they won't always display the results the same way. IE is normally more forgiving than Firefox when displaying faulty code, but in this case you started with Firefox, so that set the norm.

If you knew that 90% of your visitors would be using IE you should have developed with it, or at least test with it sooner in your development cycle .

Aside from that, you specified a left pane of width="200".  Your "What's new" box is exactly 200 pixels, what you specified, look for dnn_LeftPane.  It streches to about 233 pixels in Firefox, to match the bottom box, which by the way, cannot be 200 pixels because the email address you show there, in the font you are using, pushes the right side out in order to fit.

As far as a solution, I saw that you specified 100% in your "containermaster_blue" class and that is not doing it in IE.  Is that truly incorrect?  The container is 100% inside of the left pane which you specified as 200px.  Why is Firefox expanding it to match the bottom box I don't know.  Is it correct for FF to assume you want the top table to match the bottom table?  I think your options are to expand the size of the left pane to about 230px or to reduce the font of the email address in the bottom box.

I don't want to start a philosophical debate here, and I don't know your reason to use Firefox as your primary browser, but as a developer or Web designer knowing that the great majority of users use IE you have to get it into your test cycle very (very) early on.

Well I am not a Web designer at all I didn't do the skin either. I bought it, I haven't even looked inside the skin files. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction I guess I have to dig through the skin files and find these problematic CSS lines. Thank you.
