In the config somewhere I had it set that the login page and all other pages would be the homepage of

my dotnetnuke installation and I had the login module on the homepage so that was fine.  Then I thought (big mistake) that

since there is a Register  and Login link at the top of the page that I could remove that module from the homepage.

Now I can get to the page at http://www.vitisearch.com but I have no way that I know of to login.

Can anyone possibly help?

Thanks,

Michel White

Hi,

This article should give you the steps to fix the issue.

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

You can rename the folder of the skin with the error and then DNN will revert to the default skin (I just hope you didn't edit the dnn-blue skin directly)

I appreciate the help but neither method worked.  I tried to upload opensesame to my root directory and also to my dotnetnuke directory.

It's installed at

vitisearch.com/dotnetnuke/

I get the following error:....and also renaming the skins didn't work....

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

You need to change the customeErrors node in your web.config to mode="Off".

The error you posted just says you have an error, but it's hidden.
