OK, I found where you setup the accounts and passwords, and now I'm good.... thank goodness it didn't take more than 18 hours, whew, but with your help, I'm connected. Thank you very much.

"Obvious" is what we're born knowing, the rest we've got to learn.

Where did you find to setup accounts and passwords?  Is this in SQL Mgmt Studio?  I see the security/users node but it's not working for me.

I'm too poor for anything other than the community version

I assume you're wanting to set this up on a local machine and not a web host. All of your SQL stuff can be set up using SQL Management Studio Express. Once your create your new database you then go to "Security" then "Logins". To create a new password for your database you right-click "Logins" then click "New Login".Add your login name in the box then click "SQL Server Authentication" and give yourself a password. Then click on "User Mapping" locate your new database and click the adjacent box. Then give yourself membership roles underneath (I usually just click them all). Click OK and you're done except for giving yourself permissions on the database. Do this by right-clicking your database name, selecting Properties then "Permissions" , give your new login permissions on the database then click OK and then you're really done.

Good luck,

Mike
