Can images be used over menu items? I was thinking of replacing the navigation with my own custom images. Can this be done?

jayvilla,

Are you thinking that you would like to use images as a background or separator in your menu? because if so this is acheived pretty easily.

However if you would like to use images to replace the text in a dynamic menu then i think you'll be frustrated -- because by the very nature of a dynamic menu you can't control the size/values of each menu item.

Anyway I may be way off base as to what you are actually attempting to do, so feel free to reply with more details and i'll see if i can help steer you in the right direction.

take care,

No. You answered my question. How could I make an image separator? Where do I place the code for that?

There is a separator attribute you can specify in your menu definition. It takes a string value and you could enter an html image tag as the value. you would want to replace special characters with their html entities, which you can look up here http://www.utexas.edu/learn/html/spchar.html

hope that helps,

Hi Ian,

I'm a newbie.. I want to make menu which has round border on the left and right. I guess this can only be done by using backround images.. i think there should be 3 background images involved for each menu, which are the left border, center backrground and right border.. but i don't know how to do this in dnn...

do you have a sample skin of how to make this?

any help will be very appreciated, many thanks in advance

/Privera
