Rodney,

This tool has proved invaluable to me in just two days of use.  As a newcomer to the DNN community, and quite enthusiastic about it, I find it to be a great tool, and it saves me LOADS of time, especially the RSS Feeds.  The other links are nice, and to be honest, the weather is a favorite feature of mine!

This is a great contribution!  The links that I would want are already included, so thanks again.

Thanks a lot. Here is why.

  1. I went to Conduit web site and created myself a toolbar for a DNN site.
  2. I was able to create a LOGIN button that opens a pop up form to submit username and password.
  3. I was able to solve the problem of a chat module, at least until DNN Chat is released.
  4. I was able to research how to create my own toolbar, there are Mozilla tutorials. I can understand better now the tech behind.

DNN could benefit enormously if it develop it's own breed of toolbar. One could create stuff for:

  • Replication of small sets of DNN database data between SQL Server and SQL CE (on client PDAs or PCs) provided DNN would run on CE
  • Communicate server and client processes
  • DCOM or RPC modules running on client and server and exchanging data

I guess it is something like my idea of DNN as a webtop.

Well, thanks for the toolbar.

PS: can anyone tell me how to create a XML file with same data as in DNN menu? I have to put those on the toolbar too.

I've added 2 new features that may be of interest -

1) Trialling the usefulness of the Chat option. It's on the righthand side of the "Links" menu - it saves 2 or more people having to worry about IM clients and email addresses, just click on this to open a window to chat with other DNN Toolbar users (you need to login with a nickname before you can chat but it may be useful for knowledge sharing and quick chats with other DNN community members. Let me know how useful you think it is - if not, then it goes...

2) A link to this thread under the "DNN" menu (below "Raise a Gemini Issue") to suggest new menu options/links/feeds etc.

This will just make it easier to democratically move this Toolbar forward... your toolbars will update with the new features automatically, you do not need to do anything.
