you cannot use htmlText module 4.5.0 with DNN 4.4.1. You need either upgrade your portal to DNN 4.5.1 or reinstall htmlText 3.1.0, but this requires manual tweaks in the database, as downgrades are not supported.

I was able to uninstall html/text 4.5.0 and then reinstall version 3.1.0 and everything is back to normal except I lost what was in those modules. I didn't seem to have to do any tweaks in the database though.

tweaks in the database would have been needed to preserve the existing content.

Hi!
I had exactly the same chain of problems today with my installation of dotnetnuke. I was horrified when i received that dreaded ASP application error.
I looked at web.config, however i had web.config and release.config in the installation folder!!!  I had just installed a Text/html module upgrade. I don’t know too much about asp.net and stuff, but i noticed when comparing my trouble installation with another installation of dotnetnuke that have different domain name, that i i had a extra folder within the "App_Code" folder, the net folder was called "HTML". I deleted and that folder and now dotnetnuke website works fine again. I received that same error that’s u mentioned in all my text/html boxes but i only use 4 on the whole site so i deleted them. I going try and fix that now. If i can i will post it here.  See, I don’t want to upgrade my installation to 4.5 until I have made certain that it won’t make me lose any data or settings.
ps.  i would advise anyone that’s going to mess about inside the installation folder of dotnetnuke or any other application in any language php, asp, blah blah, to make sure you are using a good'  FTP transfer engine. Several free FTP transfer engines I’ve used in the past have made my problems worse because they cannot manage your "attributes "/" Folder permissions" properly.
