Hi, I'm new with the DotNetNuke framework and I have the next problem.

In owr application we already have an "users" table. I want DotNetNuke to validate the user login with this table from my database. How do I do it? The database is in MS SQLServer 2005.

Thanks.

Julián Montes

This is not possible without modifications to the core DNN functionality.

I'm sorry Mitchel by boderinf you again, I was thinking and get to the conclusion that modify the core is my best option, in fact, the only class that I have to modify is the one that manage the users... can you tell me what class is that?

Thank you

Julián Montes

PS: Sorry for my english

Hi Julian,

I really want caution regarding patching the core code - maybe it's very easy in the moment but don't forget the future updates. You must accomplish any changes on all updates.

As the above user mentioned I too caution against core modifications, especially one of this nature.

I personally am not even aware of all the changes necessary to make this happen.

The code for user login etc is very hard to get full access to and to find everything.  YOu will need to look at modifying the aspnetmembership provider and I also believe the DNN membership provider at minimum...
