Heres my situation:

Currently DNN 4.4 is installed and running locally.  Meaning on the local computer if I type http://localhost:8080/dnnsite everything is just fine.  When we try to view the site from a remote computer on our network by going to http://computername:8080/dnnsite we get a 403 Forbidden error.

I tried http://computername:8080/dnnsite/logo.gif and was able to see the logo in the web browswer so i know that remotely the computer is able to see the folders and files in IIS, I tried giving the account that connects to the website full permissions but still got the error.

Any ideas as to what else maybe causing this?

Thanx

Jared

add the remote address as portal alias: login as superuser ("host"), go to portals item in host menu and select your portal. at the bottom of the page add the remoteaddress as additional alias.

Sorry this thank you comes in a bit late but Thank You!.  That work for us but now we have another problem.  I added the aliases to the portal and we are able to access the site from within our network.  The problem we are having now is we are unable to access the site from outside of our network.

Currently, in the portal aliases we have:

IPAddress/foldername - defaultalias
nhofhawaii.com
www.nhofhawaii.com

In the virtual directory we specified an IP Address with port 80.  We then configured our Firewall to point to that IP Address adding the /foldername, Port 80, and using the latter two aliases as above.

What have we not done that could be causing a 403 Forbidden error from outside the network?

Thanks again,

Jared

Well our Network Admin got it to work.  I have no clue what he did but it works.  I don't think it's the proper way but it works :)

Thanks again

Jared

I am glad that you could get it to work by yourself. :-)
