I am trying to build a site that only requires a user name, email and password.  Current, it forces a Display Name as well as user name.  Any way to get rid of the display name?

In addition to the required fields, why are their help icons on the fields?  To me, having a site that lists a help icon to tell you exactly what you already see is silly and makes the site appear unprofessional.  You click on the helpf or user name and you get help such as enter a user name.  I doubt anyone would be helped by that and probably would feel more insulted than anything.

Many people are tired of entering registration information in the first place.  When the registration requires addition fields such as "Display Name" or has help that is anything but helpful, it can chase people away, not to mention that terminology as "membership to this portal"...  "first time you attempt to sign in to the portal environment"...  That just sounds tacky..  First thing, why should any  "user" ever see the word "portal", the word "site" would be much more generic and sound better to the average person.

One other usability issue, why have a collapse toggle on "Password"?  What purpose does it serve?

So, anyway possible to dump the First Name, Last Name and Display Name fields?

Is another area that the core would have to be modified?  If so, is there some easy way to maintain these changes on updates in the future?
