Using DNN 04.03.04, Forum 03.20.09

Set up new tab for discussion forums, with viewing rights given to special role (Challenge), added forum module to the page, I've set up a couple of forums, added groups to each, made sure to add the Challenge role as authorized user role for each forums group under the General Settings.  I have a test login that is in that Challenge role, and when I use that log in, I can't add a post or do anything except view a read-only version of the forum.  The only links I see at the top are Search and Forum home,,,, no my posts, no my settings, no nothing.

I can contribute and see everything hen I am logged in as administrator or as superuser.

HELP!!!! Can't for the life of me figure out what switch I am missing!!!!!!!!  I want one specific role to be able to post to this forum, with no anonymous anything - what am I missing?

I am also having this same issue.  I'm running DNN 4.5 on webhost4life autoinstalled site.  Do i need to configure any additional folder permissions in order for non admin users to be able to post and reply to forum posts?  I can't find any settings that will let any non admin users post.

-thanks

I think I got it figured out.  You need assign the role you want to be able to post edit rights to the module that holds the forum.  I am still not sure how that works out, but it appears to.

I figured it out.  You have to go to module settings and let the user group edit the module, not just view it.

You must give the desired users "edit" permission to the module via the "Settings" option from the action menu.

Don't worry this doesn't give them any other rights than posting rights, they will not be able to edit your forums.
