I am running DNN 4.5.1 running 3.02.09 and no matter which container I use or which theme I use the right margin of long lines is messed up.

http://www.agingsafely.com/Forums/tabid/284/forumid/1/threadid/15/scope/posts/Default.aspx will show what I mean.

Do I need a later version?  Is this prolem known? Does anyone have a solution?

Regards,

/DaveS

Dave, I am willing to bet that something in your skin or container has a padding set on TD and possibly other elements. Any skin or container that has this will screw up any forum theme, regardless of module version or theme selected.

I tried removing the .8ex padding on <td> and no change. BTW the page look great in FireFox.

It fails with DNN's blue container as well. But it does work with the DNN blue skin.

Why do you think that padding on td would be the cause, shouldn't that give more more space not less?

Thanks fpr the quick reply,

/DaveS

While I am not an expert on css, I can say that the padding on the td is what is affecting the forum. IE handles this completely different than FF and that is why there is an issue. When you say it fails w/ the blue container that leads me to believe one of two things: Your css file is cached locally, or the padding is in the skin. Try the old ctl + F5 to clear cache, although I have seen some wierdness w/ this and IE 7 (ie. not working at times).

I also can say that the padding IS giving it more space, thus the issue as I seen it.

#spBody  td /* DWS Hack for Forums right margin */
{ padding: .1em -2.8ex .1em -8ex }

Thanks for the pointer

/DaveS

I hacked it into the skin via the code below since I need the  (.8ex changed to -2.8ex) since I needed padding on tds other places.
