Hi all,

I meet dnn 3 months ago. I have read all the documentation, watched the training videos. Still but i can.t use Dnn on my machine. I have set up all the requirements like user accounts, SQL logins etc. When i have complete the installation there is an error like that:

00:00:07.921 - Executing Additional Scripts:
00:00:07.921 - Creating Portal: My Website
00:00:08.031 -
Error: The stored procedure 'dbo.GetFile' doesn't exist.
00:00:08.031 - Portal failed to install:
00:00:08.046 - Installing Optional Resources:

After that when i click " Click here to access your portal" link when the click event occurs. I got this strange error "Object referenced not set to an instance of an object".

I have tried lots of things to solve this prb. But i couldn.t handle it..

If any of you like i can give more details about like screen caps. or etc.

Any help would be great.

Surely this only happens when the DB is not setup correctly or the web.config does not have a correct connection string.

Can we see your connection string?

If you mean this by connection string here is my conn. string:

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=DESK_3000;Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dnnuser;pwd=merdoglu250;" />

I gave the db_owner  role for this user. I also gave read/write/modify user roles for my dnn folder. But it is still continue.

I am using Dnn 3.2.2 and sql server 2000  My asp.net version is 2.0.50215.0

Is there anything wrong?

I want to ask something in additional. If i we solve this problem i will start to configure my portal on my local machine. And as you know i will move it to remote web server when i finish. Is it possible to move it from my local machine to remote web server. I don.t like to re-install and configire it again.

Thanks for all.

Regards

Omer

Dear Savas,

I have find the solution on my own. Your default database collation causes this error. I guess you are using "Turkish CI_AI" collation as a default like me. But it causes this error. If you select Latin1_General_CI_AI for your DNN database, the installation finishes without any error. As you know you can make this adjustment on New database screen.

I hope you will pass this error.

Selametle :)
