Hello All

I need some assistance installing DNN 4.5.1. I have been following the instructions set in the installation manual and a book titled "Begining DotNetNuke 4.0 in VB 2005". When I execute the installation wizard the first thing i notice is missing Icons. I select typical install and click the next button.

  • Test permitions checks out.
  • Database connection checks out.
  • Once I click the next button the Run Database Installation Scripts starts running and it keeps running and running like Forest Gump. Nothing ever appears in the text box below.

I tried setting the application as a web site and I installed IIS on my Win XP machine. But when I execute the installtion wizard I get a "You are not authorized to view this page" error message. I tried adding /install/install.aspx the url and I get  the error message below : any help is greatly appriciated.

make sure, that asp.net is installed correctly, it looks like there is an issue with asp.Net installation.

Thanks for the reply leupold.

I do have .net 2.0 installed and if I do the "Auto" install on the site. Everyting goes through and I can log in and start working on the site. Im sure the Auto is just loading the basics. How can I test that ASP is functioning properly?

It's much more easier (and effectiver) just to to reinstall the .NET 2.0 framework again.
Sometimes happens that only one or a couple of components make problems. Now when your're running a/or more tests and everything said it's O.K. but the problem still remains because you didn't touch the very functions.
