Hi,

I have been able to create my site without any problems running locally (Vista Ultimate w\IIS 7) But after deploying it to my hosting server I am getting an error:

I deployed by simply moving my website folder to the website folder on my hosting server, I also moved the database to my hosting server (MSSQL 2005) I modified the web.config file to the following:

add name="SiteSqlServer"

connectionString="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=my.hostserver.com,1433;Initial Catalog=myDB;User Id=dboUser;Password=******;"

Error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /default.aspx

I did add my hosting server portal as:
www.mywebsite.com
And my web domain points to a local folder "website" on my hosting server but I did not include that folder in the portal path.

Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Ronny

After looking around on the web I have found something that could be related to my problem:

Looks like my hosting company is listing their HomeDirectory Root path as something different than what the DotNetNuke web application expects. For example:

Under the root path in IIS configuration, under "Home Directory"
under the field "local path". "c:\inetpub\mywebsite\" is not the same
as "c:\inetpub\mywebsite" notice the missing backslash. I will need to talk to my hosting company to see what they have to say about this.

Thanks,
Ronny

make sure, your virtual directory in IIS points to the DNN installation directory and ASP.Net 2.0 is properly installed.

Found the solution.

As it turns out my hosting company require all ASP web applications to be copied to the root of my site, since I was using a sub directory and thinking I could simply point the domain to that directory I would get the error.

Thanks,
Ronny
