Hi,

I have a strange problem (no, not me personally) viewing albums/folders in the Gallery Module.

The main Gallery page displays fine, with a picture representing each folder. However, when a user clicks on the picture to display the folder/album contents, a HTML syntax error is displayed at the botton of the brower and the pictures disappear.

Slide shows work fine, but not clicking on folder/albums to display the pictures contained in them.

The really strange thins is it works fine if I log in as "host".

Check out www.aerobatics.asn.au if you want to have a look.

We're using DNN 4.5.1 and 4.xxx (recent) of the Gallery module.

Some potential causes from the Event Log are included below.

Cheers Peter

I've seen a similar problem to this a long time ago in the beta 3.0.12 code where the "id" written to the configuration file was duplicated for pictures (had to do with how it was creating a random number to be used for the ID).  But that has been fixed in my patched code for some time.  So only thing I can think is that you added those files to your gallery while you were still running the 3.0.12 gallery version??

What you need to do is either remove all of your files and just readd them, or go into the _metadata.resources file and make sure that the "id" field is unique between pictures. Doesn't matter what the number is, just so that it is unique.

I'm having a similar problem.  When I click to open the galleries, it will just show me a blank webpage, or pop up a warning telling me that IE or Mozilla "can't open the webpage".  Either way, I can't view my galleries.  I did a quick find/sort on the id #s in the _metadata.resources files inside the album folders, and all ids were unique.  I'm running the 3.01.12 code.  Help!!
