I have a DNN test intranet installation running DNN 4.5.0.  Everything worked just fined when I upgraded from 4.4.1 to 4.5.0, but when I upgraded to 4.5.1, Windows Authentication did not work any longer.  I noticed that 4.5.2 was released, thinking that would rectify the problem I upgraded to that....still doesn't work.  I am trying to access ...admin/security/signin/windowssignin.aspx and all I do is get bumped to the home page without getting signed in.  I am also trying to signin with the user-login module as DOMAIN\UserName, but it is just sending an endless request and is not signing in.  Here is the error I get in FireFox when trying to sign in:

The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

What is causing this to occur?  Automatic login works perfectly in 4.5.0, yet does not work at all in 4.5.1 or 4.5.2.  What has been changed between the versions?

I am going to have to revert to 4.5.0 to view the error log and will update this post accordingly.

Same problem here, except that I don't end up with the endless loop, it works when I log in manually.  Upgrading to 4.5.2 didn't help here either, probably because they don't know what the problem is yet, so they cannot fix it.

gderosa, can you give me some more information about your DNN setup (single portal, child portals, etc). My development system is down so I haven't tested 4.5.2 fully yet but didn't run into the problem that you and others have been having with 4.5.1. What I need to do is to find the common denominator between your setups so that I can try to recreate it.

Mike,

On my end, I get a "Can't redirect error" out of Firefox (IE just keeps popping between pages never displaying a page).

Site is an intranet site, web.config has:

The problem exists for me for users on the intranet that do not have an account. If they have an account, everything works fine.

On a new user, the Event Viewer -> Security log shows successful authentication. But DNN does not create the user in DNN's database. Thus it throws it to the login page, the login page auto authenticates and it's stuck in a loop.

Thanks for the help!
Andy
